Social Awareness Club organized a Blood Donation Program

 

On 14 May, 2018, Social Awareness Club, under the direction of Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW), organized a voluntary Blood Donation Campaign in cooperation with the Quantum Foundation. A large number of students from different departments of the university cheerfully participated in the programme.

The program started at 10:00 am and continued till 5:00 pm at UAP Plaza. Ms. Mahjabeen Gazi, Advisor of the Social Awareness Club and Md. Tarek Khan, Assistant Director of DSW were present at the inaugural ceremony. During the campaign total 53 volunteers participated in the registration process and after preliminary on-site medical screening for health history, body weight and blood pressure nearly 41 individuals were finally selected for blood donation.

The donors were screened for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Syphilis, AIDS, Malaria at free of cost. They were also given a donor card from Quantum Foundation. With this card, they and their family members will get blood easily at the time of need from Quantum Foundation.

Social Awareness Club honored the donors with a token of appreciation for their valuable contribution in this noble task. Generally, the club recognizes the donors, who have donated blood more than three times.
